Not much to say
May 10, 2008 by Sarah Ludwig Rausch
Between the stomach bug I seem to have picked up and my spotty internet connection today (I have been trying to post this all evening Saturday and it has finally worked now that it’s early Sunday morning), I haven’t gotten much done on the computer. Nor do I feel much like posting anything.
So, I will leave you with a question: What is it with preschoolers, particularly boys, and potty humor? My boys think anything to do with bodily functions and private parts is hilarious. I don’t remember my girls ever being this way. Is it a gender thing?
Please, weigh in.
oh, this is one of those universal truths!!! reading your post, my mind immediatley travelled to a day a few years back… my very studious daughter was using a veterinary computer game when her younger brother’s friends were over…. they love to bug her, as all little brothers do, & caught sight of the word “anus” on her anatomy lesson & would not let go of it…each taking turns saying it with the others roaring with laughter!!!! I, with more than just a little embarrassment, had to explain to the boys’ mother when she arrived, the source of their new vocabulary word!!!
Yeah, it is. I only have 2 boys, and they’re a tad young for that still; but I’ve babysat a lot of boys and a few girls, not to mention the passel of kids at church, and I’ve found this to be true. As my late pastor put it — you raise girls, you have to civilize boys! :-)
Yesterday at Menards a guy asked Nathan how he was doing. Even though he didn’t have one, he responded with what he thinks is the funniest thing to say in any situation–”Poopy diaper.” Ugh!
